We collect you from your accommodation in the Barolo/Barbaresco zone in the morning  and make our way to the first of two appointment wine tastings with some of the top wine producers of the area. These are not your normal ‘New World’ winery tastings where you stand up at a tasting bar and are rushed through a tasting, but more intimate and involved. You will often be taken for a tour of the cellar, sometimes a walk in the vines, and hear to stories about the history of the estate and the wine area itself. From here you will then be guided through a comprehensive tasting of a range of wines from the more basic, younger styles right through to the iconic single vineyard Barolo and Barbaresco wines.

Following the morning we head to lunch at a top local restaurant which is all inclusive in the price, including wine. We avoid ‘house wine’ on our tours, preferring to show our guests wines selected selected from the best wines of the region to include with their meal. In the afternoon we do another appointment tasting before apperitivo at one of the many great wine bars and enoteccas in the area, then we take you back to your accommodation.

Any extra time throughout the day is spent sightseeing, maybe strolling through one of the many stunning hilltop towns of the area, checking out some of the incredible vistas and generally making the most of your time with us.

If you would rather have a bit more diversity than just wine we can include visits to some of the amazing artisan food producers of the area. From amazing and rare cheeses, incredible and delectable chocolate or possibly a farm tour and tasting of the famous hazelnuts of the Alte Langhe, swapping out a winery visit for one of these incredible food producers provides a great snapshot into the gourmet food culture which is just a way of life and a true corner stone of the culture of Piemonte and wider Italy.

The pricing for the day tour is €290pp which includes everything for the day. We also offer the opportunity to turn the day tour into  an exclusive completely private tour for an extra €100 (in total, not pp). This means that we will take no more bookings for the day and it will only be your group and your guide for the entire day.
